It’s no secret that I’m not a snob when it comes to affordable beauty, some of my all time favourite products come from the more affordable brands (the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper is the only brow mascara I’ll ever use and the Maybelline FitMe Concealer BEATS so many high end ones that I own!) and there’s nothing better than finding a product that works for you like a dream that doesn’t break the bank when you need to repurchase it over and over again!

I was kindly gifted the entire Gigi Hadid X Maybelline collection late last year and after seeing quite a few mixed reviews regarding this collection in the global beauty community, I was very intrigued to give the entire collection a go and see which products I personally think are actually fab.

I literally squealed when I first saw that Gigi Hadid was releasing a collection with Maybelline after seeing a London based blogger event in someones weekly vlog on YouTube, especially after seeing how beautifully satisfying the packaging was (all over the nude!). A sucker for packaging, but for top quality product only, I didn’t fall in love with the entire collection, however there are a few that I have kept for my own makeup collection that I absolutely ADORED.

I have been lucky enough to try out the entire collection so I am now reporting back to let you guys know which products I think are 100% actually worth purchasing and having in your collection! From mini eyeshadow palettes, to lipsticks, to mascara and liquid highlighter, I have got a good, solid range for you all to go and check out.

So, what am I recommending from this highly anticipated collection?

Warm Eyeshadow Palette $24.99

First of all, can I just say that in terms colour, this is pretty much ME in a palette. I’m incredibly seasonal when it comes to beauty products, so I am all about the champagne, peach and gold.. both shimmer and matte. I also love that this little palette has the optional dark plum shade which is perfect for the evening if you’re wanting to sex it up a bit, otherwise the combination of matte peach and nude in the crease, shimmery gold and peach on the lid and champagne for the inner corner and brow bone highlight is absolutely perfect for an ‘every day’ look in the summer!

In terms of formula, you do have to be a little bit careful as the shadows tend to get a bit crumbly in the pan, however on the eye they don’t have any fall out which is FAB. These shadow palettes are literally tiny as well so they’re perfect for travelling and keeping in ya handbag!

Warm Eye Contour Palette $24.99

Pretty much the same sitch as mentioned above, yet this is a matte palette featuring five shadows. You don’t get a loooot of product in the pan, but the colours are gorgeous for a warm, matte eye!

Gold Liquid Strobe $19.99

One word.. GORGEOUS. You’ll need a bit of a tan but this liquid highlight is absolutely beautiful. I’m all about bronzing the heck out of my face at the mo and highlighting with golden hues so this product is easily one of my favourites from the collection! I’ve also used it as an eyeshadow base which looked so so so SO sooooo good. It’s easy to blend, packs a real big punch in terms of pigment and is all round a fabulous little highlighter which is definitely worth getting from the collection if you’re into the golden dewy look like I am at the moment.

Lipstick in Austyn $24.99

Literally the ultimate iconic Gigi orangey red tone. Super creamy, long lasting, easy to apply and the packaging is just bloody divine! This shade is pretty much my new go-to for events and jazzy evenings when I’m keen on a pop of colour, espesh because I do tend to lean towards organgey tones! Love love love.

Lipliner in Austyn $18.99

The matching liner.. HOW GOOD that they’re doing matching liners and lipsticks! There’s nothing more frustrating than being unable to find a liner than matches your favourite lipstick perfectly, so I love that they’ve done this. I also love that they’re retractable because I certainly do not have time to be sharpening my makeup pencils!

Lipstick in Taura $24.99

My favourite shade out of the three nude based lippys. It’s not quite as dark as Erin, but Mccall was just far too light for me and washed me out a bit. It really is just your classic browny nude but they absolutely nailed it!

Lipliner in Taura $18.99

Lash Sensational Mascara $29.99

Interestingly, they brought out two mascaras in this collection, the other one had two ends for lash priming which I’m not personally into, but they brought out one of my FAVE MASCARAS EVER in limited edition Gigi packaging. I’ve been using this ever since it came out a couple of years ago and am so happy to have another one in that glorious nude and gold packaging! If you love long, separated lashes that completely fan out at the sides, you will absolutely love this.

Gel Eyeliner in Nude $22.99

Gel Eyeliner in Black $22.99

They brought out two Gel Eyeliners, one in nude which I love using on my water line to make me look a bit more awake (necessary) and one in black which I usually use to do a tiny little wing as well as shade the outer corner of my water line just to smoke things up a bit for an evening look. As the liners are gel based, they glide beautifully! The only thing I can fault them on is that they aren’t retractable like the lip liners.

So there you have it team, the products from the collection that I actually think are great! I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether you’ve tried anything from the collection and what you think.

  • Oooooh I’ve not yet picked up any products from this range but you’ve inspired me to pop out and grab a few bits. My current Lash Sensational tube is actually running low and I much prefer the nude packaging so I’ll deffo be grabbing that, and I love the idea of nude eyeliner!
