NEW IN BEAUTY: ESTEE LAUDER X VICTORIA BECKHAM
If we throw ourselves into discussion over who released the most epic beauty collection of 2017, everyone else says Fenty Beauty, but I am saying it loud and clear, NO honey, it’s VICTORIA BECKHAM X ESTEE LAUDER.
I genuinely do not believe that any other beauty/designer collab could possibly be quite as epic as VB x Estee Lauder, and with so many amazing brand + celeb/influencer/designer alliances this year, it’s a big call for me to truly, honestly, whole heartedly say that this collaboration is extra special, and not because one of my favourite, inspiring girl (or should I say ‘woman’) bosses co-created this elegant collection, but because these products are simply perfection.
So let’s get into the high end beauty amazingness!
There’s nothing more luxurious than applying this moisturiser/primer/illuminator hybrid and especially for the current season, I am absolutely obsessed with ensuring that my base is fresh and glowing before I even worry about applying additional products! With Morning Aura underneath your base, it gives you a glow that you can control. I apply less than half a pump for the perfect ‘every day’ amount and then a full pump to really bump up the glow for an evening out. Not to mention it does a FAB job at ensuring your skin is full of moisture and that your makeup lasts from AM to PM – important!
The Aura Gloss is MUCH more than meets the eye and as well as being one of VB’s favourite products from the collection, it’s become a staple product in my own and I can’t imagine ever being without it! It’s essentially a gloss with a highlighter component in it. With light reflecting particles and a shiny, but not unpleasantly sticky formula, it is the perfect product to use on the high points of the face to highlight, pop onto my eye lids to create that oh so very on trend ‘glossy eye’ look, or to simply press onto the lips, bare or on top of lipstick for a beaming, moisture infused lip look!
Simply a gorgeous, finely milled powder that gets rid of any excess, unwanted shine but still allows for the wanted glow to shine on through your beautiful face! My favourite thing about this powder is that once applied, it literally feels like you haven’t added any excess product to your face, it’s so light and doesn’t look cakey whatsoever, no matter how much product you apply.
You all know I’m a bronzer junkie, and it’s no different when it comes to this one – and not only because the packaging is absolutely STUNNING! This shade is on the warmer end of the bronzer spectrum, but as we head into the warmer months that is exactly what I’m after because when applied in the right areas, it looks the most natural. Similar to the Skin Perfecting Powder above, the formula of this bronzer is light and offers an incredibly natural bronze that is super easy to blend – basically it’s fool proof!
I absolutely LOVE a skinny mascara wand because I literally have giraffe lashes (a blessing, but can be difficult to find the right mascara that will cooperate with them!). Eye Ink allows you to get right down to the root of each lash and coats each and every one individually to create length but also curl and volume!
The wand also has fibres on it which helps to thicken each lash perfectly. The big test for me when it comes to mascara is whether it smudges or not by the end of the day, and this honey passed the test with flying colours!
As GORGEOUS as a single eye shadow gets, no wonder this shade is the star of its own show – IT IS BEAUTIFUL! I’m such a sucker for bronzey shades but this one is extra special with it’s gold/green reflects. I’ve tried it packed solely onto the lid as well as swept through the crease and it’s absolutely beautiful either way – it’s the perfect shade to smoke and dazzle your eye look all at the same time.
I know, that striking blue shade is intimidating at first, BUT it’s actually surprisingly wearable. These shadows, (including the Eye Metal above) are so insanely creamy and are an absolute dream when it comes to blending! A little bit of shadow goes a long way too so they’re incredibly easy to blend and play around with on the eye. B
y taking a small amount of the shade Bleu Electrique and diffusing it into the crease and winging it out in the outer corner, it becomes an incredibly wearable shade. By adding the second colour in the duo on the lid and adding a bit of winged liner, these two shades together create a fun pop of colour that is super duper on trend right now!
So.. I don’t want to be dramatic, but, I have literally found my new Holy Grail Status nudey-pink lipstick.
I AM IN LOVE with not only this colour, but this formula! I’m not even one to reach out for a ‘matte’ lipstick finish either, so that just goes to show how lovely and wearable the formula of these lipsticks are. It’s kinda like.. they aren’t ‘satin’ because they’re not shiny, but they don’t do that horrible matte lipstick thing where they feel heavy and drying, either.
The reason I’m so obsessed with the colour is because it’s pretty much the same colour as my lips, just slightly pinker which is exactly what I’m after for Spring. It’s beautiful, perfectly comfortable and actually last on the lips, even after a bite to eat and a few too many glasses of wine – my perfect lippy!
As above, however this shade is on the brownier end of the spectrum, rather than pink! Still a beautiful shade, however I’ll probably keep this for a smokey, evening makeup look when I’m feeling slightly sassy!
So that is essentially my overview from the new A/W (marketed for the northern hemisphere) products recently added to the EL X VB collection and as well as so many other international bloggers and YouTubers, I am SUPER impressed.
The Aura Gloss, Morning Aura, Bitter Clove Eye Metal & Matte Lipstick in Burnished Rose are the stand out products for me, however each and every one of these products have my 100% recommend approval.
And if that doesn’t get you excited enough, LOOK. AT. THAT. PACKAGING!
