Introducing Collection Cosmetics

I would never lie to any of you, even down to the littlest thing such as the fact that I am a high end beauty product girl at heart (call me superficial, whatever Trevor) and often turn my nose up to low end beauty brands due past experiences with break outs, crappy application and the nuisance of cheap and easily broken packaging.

Collection Cosmetics has shaken up my narrow minded perception of low price beauty. After my first experience using them two years ago when I was travelling in the UK (Zoella’s influence), I was immediately obsessed with the quality for such a small price and the brand became my go to for concealer, lipstick and eyeliner.

Last year the UK based beauty brand made its way to New Zealand and to my excitement, brought along a few of my favourite products to offer the NZ market! As Collection are still building up their presence here down under, I thought I would gather a couple of my favourite products and give you guys the low down on what you absolutely need from their range.

Lasting Colour Lipstick in Rosewood $ 16.50

Like I have said in previous posts, I have ALWAYS had an issue with finding the right every-day lipstick that doesn’t dry my lips out, but still packs a punch when it comes to pigmentation and long lasting effect.

  1. The formula is absolutely excellent – moisturising, pigmented and lasts wonderfully even after eating and drinking, leaves a pretty stain when the majority of it has disappeared which is a look that I absolutely love
  2. The shade ‘Rosewood’ is freaking stunning!!!!!!!! Obsessed!!!!

Lasting Perfection Concealer $15.99

This was the product that made me fall in love with Collection back in London, 2014. A cult favourite from beauty bloggers over in the UK and a product that I needed to get my hands on as soon as I flew in! It just sits perfectly on top of any foundation or even on its own, pigmented enough to cover up any spots yet smooth enough to swipe under your eyes for a bright eyed and flawless look. A wonder product in my opinion and sits up very highly on my list of favourite concealers!

The only downside is that it only comes in 3 shades, so for some people this aspect of the product is going to be a bit of a hit or miss, however if you’re lucky enough to avoid this issue it’s your peeeerfect low end concealer.

Contour Kit $29.99

Okay guys if I’m completely honest with you, I was SO incredibly pleasantly surprised by this product in particular. Low end bronzers and contour powders usually freak me out, I’ve never found one that didn’t oxidise after an hour or so or that was just too orangey right off the bat. The same goes for low end highlighters, usually they’re just a crappy excuse for a glittery eyeshadow in a big pan.

Hello little game changer!

This palette is PERFECT for those of you who are starting out with contouring or for those of you who prefer a more subtle and natural looking contour/bronzed look. It’s quite a light pigment powder but personally I actually prefer it because it means you can never really go overboard, building up the pigment on your cheek always creates a more natural look and looks so much better anyway! The highlight is super sheeny instead of glittery which is absolutely perfect to create that natural looking, lit from within highlight rather than a stripe of sparkly powder sitting on the top of your cheek bones.

Divine Lash Mascara $19.99

If you’re after a low end mascara that has got your back in terms of lash volume, here is your perfect match.

This mascara does exactly what it says, creates a super volumising false lash effect with a super black pigment and moisturising formula so your lashes never look too spidery and dried out which is always common with mascaras that focus on volume. It isn’t a nightmare to remove either which for me is a huuuuge bonus!

Work The Colour Eyebrow Kit $29.99

The cutest little kit that at first I was a little intimidated by because of the colour options and powder format (I’ve only ever used a pomade or a pencil!) however, I quickly figured out that the trick to applying this product is by using the angled brush with the three shades as a base, lowlight and highlight! I used the middle colour in the blonde kit for the base, the darkest shade for the under line of my brows and the lighter shade of the beginning and top end of my brows, a little time consuming but I loved the effect that it gave!

Top it off with the clear brow gel that conveniently comes with the look to add a bit of texture and give them a little bit more dimension. Perfect brows!

Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Eyeliner $15.99

Now I am the kind of girl who can only find success with winged liner when handed an angled brush, black eye shadow and bottle of MAC Fix +. I’m useless with pen liners, I always have been and I figured I always would be but this little liner has changed that for me.. using my usual technique this pen worked an absolute treat.

It’s super black, super pointy and super glidey (you get what I mean) making for fabulously easy application and a much less stressful winged liner experience. Big yay!
