My Current ‘Going Out’ Makeup Look

Okay, yeah I know it sounds kind of superficial but in all honesty, sitting down and taking the time to do my make up before a night out is easily one of my favourite ways to de stress after a long week of work and uni. It’s something that I personally view as a creative outlet itself and that is one of the pure reasons why I love makeup so very much!

I tend to go through weird phases with various looks but at the moment I’m going through a phase where I refuse to veer away from an all matte, subtle, burgundy, winged eye look paired up with a nude satin lip and a dewy but not TOO dewy finish. I’m keeping it very simple and elegant.. but mostly because it’s Winter and the lighting is terrible when I start getting ready to go out for the night so I’m not exactly too keen on experimenting with smokey eyes when I can barely see what I’m bloody doing (hurry up daylight savings!)

I’m certainly no artist or professional, but I thought I would share exactly what I’m putting on my face for a Winter night out on the town just in case some of you were interested 🙂

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab

My absolute ride or die foundation. I am so reluctant to try out anything else because Sheer Glow just provides absolutely everything I need in a foundation! Read a little more about it in a previous post here

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard

Now I was hesitant to try this little guy out because I am so emotionally attached to the Maybelline Fitme Concealer which is half the price. This is an incredibly controversial opinion in the beauty world but I personally just think that it’s a little bit overrated, especially for the price point… haters gonna hate

It’s a great concealer don’t get me wrong, it’s of high quality and gets the job done but I don’t think it’s superior over the Fitme whatsoever – it’s purely in my routine so that I can use it up! $50 for a product that I use daily and runs out after a month just isn’t worth it for me.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in Medium

STILL my all time favourite powder. After I ran out of it toward the end of the summer, I wanted to try something different because ordering it online was just a bit of a nuisance. I decided to give the Benefit Hello Flawless powder a go and hated it immediately after applying it for the first time.

It just made my entire face of make up feel 20 times heavier and looked super cakey, not to mention the way it horrendously oxydized on top of my foundation! The worst!!!! The other alternative was the Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Powder but it was out of stock when I popped into the store to pick it up..

SO my only other option was to repurchase this beauty and I’m so glad I did, I had definitely forgotten how much I loved this powder and how beautifully it sits on top of my foundation. Big yay.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Wow. I am a HUGE fan and incredibly late to jump onto the bandwagon but I am so glad that I did!

Whether you want to strategically contour or just bronze yourself up, Hoola is just the absolute perfect shade of bronze to mimick that cheek bone shadow to create some insane facial definition.

I’ve been reaching for it pretty much every time I get ready to go out instead of my other favourites which include Nars Laguna, Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Golden Light & Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil which means that I must really freaking love it.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8 Hour Blush

My go to blush at the moment! Perfect for a night out because it’s a long wear formula but I’m mostly wearing it at the moment because of the winter friendly colour and pigment. Read more about it here

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette

Such a versatile palette and it’s the only palette i’ve been reaching for at the moment but purely for the matte shades. For the Winter i’ve been steering clear from shimmers and just been playing around with Mattes to create more of a contoured eye effect, finished off with a black wing created by using an angled eyeliner brush, some MAC fix plus and the shade ‘smokeshow’. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Medium Brown

For so long I’ve been an avid Brow Wiz user but after ABH released the Brow Definer earlier this year, I just needed to give it a try! It’s in a triangular shape, making the product a lot easier to apply onto the brow because of the different edges that allow you to outline the different sections of the brow.

It took me a little while to get used to it after I first purchased it because you really need to adjust your application method according to the shape of the product, but after I got used to it I have to say it’s a wonderfully convenient way to do your brows. Lasts all night and all day, great pigmentation, not a lot to say about it really other than it’s the perfect brow tool!

Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara

Fab for someone like me who was blessed with long lashes and hates fiddling with falsies! Read more about it here

I have then finished off with my all time favourite nude lippy Peachstock by MAC. Finding your perfect nude lippy that works well with your skin tone is a bit of a difficult task,  but after a tonne of trial and error I definitely think that Peachstock is my favourite nude lip for a night out. Combining the perfect tones of peach and brown it really creates the most flattering lip!

I apologise in advance if I have just created a cause of action and that you’re about to blow you’re entire pay check <3

I hope you all have a great weekend!
